Bronchial Tree

This is my final project for Drawing I, made in December 2011. The project was to reconstruct a new image using two or more images. My inspiration was the relationship between humans and trees and how all living things need the exchange of CO2 with O2 to survive. The seed in the center of the drawing is the seed of a Sugar Gum tree which I thought had similar aspects as the bronchial sacs in human lungs. I chose the title Bronchial Tree because I enjoyed the play on words.

Japan’s Reckoning

This is my final project for my Intermediate Painting class. It involves the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, the atom bomb had an affect on people not just physically but mentally traumatized from it. The three figures are some of the victims from the bombing I choose those three images from a book from separate pages then found a way to have them be portrayed in one painting, it was hard for me to paint those images because there extremely difficult to look at just the images, the images are very sad and whats even more sad is that the people from Japan had to live through the struggle from the aftermath of the atom bomb.
