Read AIGA executive director Richard Grefe’s response to the controversy surrounding Obama’s design contest for a poster for his new Job’s Project. Is is ok for design to be crowd-sourced or created on spec, essentially work without pay? Is design a hobby or career? Now that we all have the digital tools the distinction becomes less clear.
